To link your AC to Alexa, first make sure your AC is connected to the Windmill app and you’ve downloaded the Alexa app. Then follow these steps in the Alexa app. (Your phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your AC, and for best results your AC should be on.)
- Tap More
- Tap Skills & Games
- Type “Windmill” in the search bar
- Tap Windmill-AC
- Tap ENABLE TO USE
- Type your Windmill email and password, and then tap Login
- After a moment, your Windmill account should link to Alexa. Then tap Next
- Alexa will automatically search for any Windmill ACs connected to the Windmill app and then add them to Alexa. This may take several moments. Once Alexa finds your AC(s), tap Next. (Note: Alexa may show a screen saying that it could not find the AC even when it has found it. If you see this screen, exit out of it and you may see that the AC has in fact been found. If you're not sure, tap Devices, then drag the top tiles to the left and then tap All Devices to see if your Windmill AC appears. If you don't see it, follow the steps below for "If you have enabled the Windmill-AC skill in Alexa, but you don’t see your AC." If that still doesn't work, disable the Windmill-AC skill using the steps at the bottom of this article and start over.)
- You may assign your AC(s) to a room or group, or tap Skip
- Tap Continue and then Done
- You’re all set!
If you have enabled the Windmill-AC skill in Alexa, but you don’t see your AC, try the following steps:
- Tap More
- Tap Add a Device
- Tap Other at the bottom of the list (you’ll need to scroll)
- Tap Wi-Fi
- Tap Discover Devices
- Alexa will now search for any ACs connected to the Windmill app and add them to Alexa. This may take several moments. Once Alexa has found your Windmill AC, tap Set Up Device
- You may assign your AC(s) to a room or group, or tap Skip
- Tap Continue and then Done
- You’re all set! If you like, tap View to view Alexa’s AC controls.
If you need to unlink and relink your Windmill account to Alexa, please do the following:
- Tap Devices
- Drag the top tiles to the left and then tap All Devices
- Tap on your Windmill AC in the All Devices list
- Tap the gear icon in the upper right
- Tap the trash can icon in the upper right
- Tap Delete
- Tap Devices
- Scroll down and tap Your Smart Home Skills
- Tap Windmill-AC
- Tap Disable Skill
- Tap Disable
- Tap Enable To Use
- Continue the set up process described in the top section above, starting with the step “Type your Windmill email and password.” (Don’t forget to turn on your AC for this part.)
